OUR POLICIES
  • RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSIT: Reservations must be made with a valid charge card and may be charged a deposit for the first night's stay when the reservation is confirmed (Look for 'deposit'). For extended stays and multiple rooms, up to a 50% deposit may be required. Deposits by personal check and money order are accepted but are not refundable. Reservations will be confirmed in writing by e-mail, if time allows. Reservations made within one week prior to arrival are final and could be charged in full immediately.

  • CANCELLATION: Cancellations are allowed up to one week before the arrival date. Refundable deposits will be returned to your charge card minus an administration fee. There is no refund for cutting short the reserved period or for early checkouts. The cancellation period and the administration fee for multiple rooms or multiple nights reservations, may differ. Take notice that there is a processing fee for all cancellations, no exceptions.

  • CHANGING A RESERVATION: Changes in reservations where the stay is shortened or where some, but not all rooms are cancelled, are allowed during the cancellation period (see previous paragraph). Editing the reservation by 50% or more in rooms, nights or total amount is considered a cancellation --and the fee will be applied-- and so is rescheduling the entire stay to another time slot.

  • CHECK-IN-TIME is between 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Reserved room(s) will be held until 6:00 p.m. on the confirmed arrival date, unless we have been notified of your late arrival. If late, please call us at 207-655-7586 to confirm your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), much appreciated. The front desk closes at 10:00 p.m. during off-season and 11:00 p.m. in peak season. (For very late arrivals, due to flight delays and such, we will try to make special arrangements, but YOU HAVE TO CALL US!) CHECK-OUT-TIME is 11 a.m.

    Take notice: In case of an unconfirmed late arrival or "no-show" we may re-rent the room(s) as we see fit but are under no obligation to do so. If reserved rooms are not re-rented, the party that holds the reservation will be charged for the full amount, forfeiting any deposit and other disputes regarding that reservation.

  • REMAINDER DUE AT ARRIVAL: The total cost of your stay including the Maine lodging tax and minus the deposit, is due at check-in; any additional costs accrued during your stay will be charged at check-out. Pay with charge card, personal check or cash, however, we may refuse non charge-card-payments for any reason at any time. Please, show your confirmation if special price-arrangements have been made.

  • RATES: All rates are based upon single or double occupancy and are subject to the Maine Lodging Tax. Additional persons are charged extra (max. 4 adults in double rooms.) Rollaway beds, cots and cribs are also subject to an extra charge.

  • PETS: Only small dogs may be allowed for short stays and only in a designated room in the motel. There is a $15 charge per pet per night. The penalty for pets of any kind brought into the room without explicit permission is $250.

  • NON-SMOKING: The Maplewood Inn & Motel is a non-smoking facility. We do charge a minimum of $75 for smoking violations or, for that matter, for any damages on our premises. Please report damages immediately so we can help you recover the cost with your insurance company.
